Finance Officer

Kanda is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join our Finance Team in Bundaberg. This full-time position plays an important role in supporting accurate financial processing across our business units, ensuring timely reporting and contributing to the smooth operation of our finance functions.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Receivable: Process customer invoicing using industry-specific software, ensuring accuracy in support item selection and timely data entry. Maintain and update client information across all systems and assist with debtor collection and management reporting.
  • Banking & Reconciliations: Process bank and credit card transactions with accurate coding and system entry. Complete bank and credit card reconciliations as well as provide administrative support for finance processes.
  • Financial Administration: Support customer budget funding requests, allocation of funds and GL/cost centre allocation reviews. Assist with finance general administrative tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Team & Stakeholder Support: Communicate effectively with both operational and finance team members units via phone, email, and Microsoft Teams. Provide general finance support to contribute to the smooth operation of the finance function.
 
About You
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance, accounts (AP), or billing role (AR) (preferably within the fee-for-service industry, such as healthcare, aged care, or community services)
  • Strong systems capability - able to learn new platforms quickly and work confidently across multiple software platforms (including both Rostering T&A as well as Finance ERP systems or MYOB/Xero)
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry, reconciliations, and financial processing
  • Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, especially when reviewing financial discrepancies
  • Strong understanding of compliance-driven environments and handling sensitive funding streams
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-growing environment with evolving processes and systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Hold or willing to obtain: Working with Children Suitability Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening.
