The Role
As a newly created, senior finance leadership role, the Financial Controller will report directly to the Group CFO and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, managing risk, and driving operational efficiency across the organisation. You will provide executive-level financial insights to support strategic decision-making while leading and developing a geographically dispersed finance team.
  
This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on finance professional who thrives in a complex, multi-site organisation, and who can influence outcomes across the business while maintaining strong compliance and financial integrity.

This role requires regular interstate travel to support Business Unit leadership, finance operations, and organisational priorities across multiple sites.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all financial operations including reporting, cash flow, and capital planning.
  • Manage the outcomes of Business Unit budgets.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to the CFO and senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), funding requirements, taxation, and grant/contract obligations.
  • Identify financial and operational risks, implement robust internal controls, and drive process improvements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering capability, accountability, and excellence.
  • Partner with business leaders to optimise resource allocation, manage costs, and support sustainable growth.
  
About You
  • CPA or CA qualified with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of progressive financial management experience in multi-site or complex organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of AASB, payroll tax, FBT, GST, funding compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience in Human Services, Healthcare, Disability or Child Safety will be highly regarded.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Eligible to hold Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
