About the Role
Kanda CYF is seeking a dedicated Property Officer to join our team. This full-time role, based in Townsville, QLD, is crucial for maintaining all assigned properties and assets to a high standard in a safe, efficient, and routine manner. You will ensure adherence to legislative compliance and best practice for asset management, supporting our accommodation and support programs for children and young people under statutory intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Property Maintenance: Oversee repairs and maintenance for all assigned properties, including coordinating schedules and reviewing service agreements with contractors.
  • Compliance: Ensure all relevant documentation is completed for Residential Tenancy Authority and other legislative guidelines, in collaboration with the Leasing Officer. Ensure contractor compliance (licences, insurance, checks).
  • Asset Management: Source, order, and arrange the purchase, repair, or replacement of assets. Track asset movements and maintain accurate asset registers.
  • New Business & Relationships: Source new properties suitable for supported accommodation, investigate industry trends, and partner with suppliers, contractors, and internal units for growth opportunities.
  • Documentation & Records: Ensure appropriate records are kept and maintained to a high standard, aligning with reporting requirements and Kanda policies.
About You
  • A combination of relevant experience, education, and training in a similar role for a minimum of 2 years (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating professional assertiveness and excellent customer service.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Hold or willing to obtain:
    • Working with Children Suitability Blue Card.
    • Licensed Care Services approval (LCS2).
    • NDIS Worker Screening.
    • Current unencumbered Class C Driver's Licence.
