The Opportunity

A major enterprise platform is investing in its transaction and checkout ecosystem within one of its most commercially critical domains.

The team is building a new backend service designed to centralise financial and order-level calculation logic that currently exists across multiple systems.

This role will contribute to a high-performance, real-time microservice responsible for ensuring financial accuracy across orders, invoicing, and downstream systems.

This is greenfield engineering work with direct impact on transaction integrity and platform scalability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building a new backend microservice
• Consolidating distributed financial logic into a single service layer
• Contributing to high-throughput, real-time systems
• Working within a cloud-native Azure environment
• Operating in a modern engineering culture leveraging AI-assisted tooling

Tech Environment - Core requirements:

• Strong .NET backend development experience
• MongoDB
• Azure

Context:

• Microservices architecture
• Distributed systems
• Real-time transaction processing

What We’re Looking For

• Senior backend engineer with experience building production-grade services
• Strong understanding of service boundaries and distributed architecture
• Experience working in high-volume or transactional environments
• Exposure to financial or calculation-heavy systems advantageous
• Comfortable in cloud-first engineering environments

This is new service development within a high-visibility platform area — not a maintenance or legacy uplift role.

Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite in Sydney CBD.
Day rate: $950 - $1000 inc super
Start: within 3 weeks
