About the Opportunity A major enterprise is seeking a Product Owner to lead the transformation of its internal data ecosystem. This is a brand-new role within a newly formed platform squad. You’ll shape how data is distributed, onboarded, and governed across the organisation.
The focus is on modernising the data platform. The goal is to move away from legacy systems and centralise data capabilities into a unified, scalable environment. You'll work closely with engineering, security, and operations to build secure pipelines, drive platform adoption, and embed best practices across data squads.
The environment is DevSecOps-oriented. Expect autonomy, trust, and end-to-end ownership. This role works with a tight-knit squad of 5–7 and won’t carry direct reports. Ideal for someone who thrives in a product-led, engineering-heavy environment.
What You’ll Do - Own the roadmap and delivery for internal data platform transformation and replatforming initiatives
- Partner with engineering, architecture, and security teams to design and roll out scalable pipelines and data flows
- Build a secure and resilient data distribution framework across the business
- Centralise and empower data squads through better tooling, governance, and platform standards
- Run stakeholder engagement across tech, operations, and business functions to drive adoption and alignment
- Establish feedback loops, KPIs, and iterative improvements through a product mindset
What You’ll Bring - 5+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in data platform or infrastructure environments
- Strong background in delivering secure data pipelines and governance frameworks
- Experience leading platform modernisation or replatforming efforts
- Ability to navigate legacy and modern architectures while driving simplification
- High influence across cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Excellent communication skills and a knack for clear alignment across stakeholders
- Comfortable in DevSecOps or continuous delivery environments
- Familiarity with cloud-based data technologies and compliance requirements
