Junior Accountant – 2025 start

The Role

Rated as one of BC's Best Workplaces, Treewalk is an innovative and entrepreneurial mid-size accounting firm headquartered out of Vancouver with an expanding office presence across the country. We are a CPABC pre-approved training office that supports CPA students through their journey to designation. If you want to work with a great team of accounting professionals, you’ve found the right place.

We are looking for recent, or soon to be, graduates passionate about accounting that are looking to start in 2025. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual that is excited about challenging work, is obsessively organized, and has a commitment to continuous improvement. You have a knack for problem solving and are always seeking to learn more about accounting and bookkeeping. If you take immense satisfaction from getting a difficult reconciliation to balance or solving what feels unsolvable you would be a good fit for our team.

At Treewalk, you will enjoy a 40-hour work week as you provide various non-assurance accounting services for private entities and small to mid-sized cap public companies. This is a terrific opportunity for someone who loves working independently, has a strong desire to learn new things, and wants to grow professionally without necessarily working 60+ hours a week.

What will your days look like

We will do everything we can to get you the experience you want. Industries we work with include e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, cannabis, blockchain, mining and biotechnology
  • Regular creation and maintenance of various audit working papers - though we don’t provide audit services, you will have ample opportunity to directly liaise with our clients’ external auditors and understand what that process entails
  • Analyzing clients reporting systems and software systems and making recommendations for improvement
  • Performing monthly variance analysis on income statement and balance sheet accounts
  • Working with different functional currencies and foreign exchange transactions
  • Maintaining organized e-records of all invoices/statements
  • Managing commodity tax filings for clients (i.e., GST and PST)
  • Other requested administrative tasks as required.

It’s Treewalk for a Reason
  • We will cover your CPA schooling, annual dues, and professional development courses. Better yet, we do not have a claw-back policy - if you decide to leave Treewalk at any point, we will never ask for that money back.
  • We encourage you to work from wherever is most convenient and productive for you. We offer fully remote work options within Canada, although you’re welcome to work hybrid or in our offices as well.
  • Work with a team of other CPA students to experienced CFOs, with opportunities of mentorship and exposure to different careers in accounting.
  • We’ve got you covered from Day 1 - your extended healthcare and maternity leave benefits kick in on your first day of work!
Who We Are
Treewalk is a firm with an anti-firm culture – think tech-startup, but accounting. We are on a journey to become the go-to training place for accountants of all levels who want to work in industry.
We are an accounting and advisory practice based out of downtown Vancouver with an expanding presence across the country. We specialize in financial reporting and accounting needs for private and public companies. Our clients are from all industry sectors, and because we are industry-agnostic, we never shy away from new and emergent industries – having worked with companies in e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, cannabis, mining, and biotechnology, to name a few.

As one of the fastest growing accounting firms in Canada, we’ve got a lot on the go, and as far as we’re concerned, the only barrier to reaching our goals is finding exceptional talent to keep building out our team.
