We're looking for a Delivery Manager to help mature their ways of working across engineering, product and program teams, with a unique mix of software, hardware, and embedded systems in the stack. This is a newly created role with real influence — you will be shaping Agile practices, refining how JIRA supports product strategy, and playing a key role in shifting the company from engineering-led to product-led.

Responsibilities:

1. Establish & Evolve Agile Delivery Practices

• Introduce lightweight, context-appropriate Agile processes that suit a mixed environment (software, hardware, embedded systems).
• Coach teams in Agile mindset without imposing rigid frameworks; adapt delivery practices to suit technical complexity and current maturity.

2. Oversee Delivery Across Software Engineering

• Own the end-to-end delivery cycle for software initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
• Run Agile ceremonies (planning, retros, etc.) where appropriate, reducing dependency on the Engineering Manager for delivery facilitation.

3. Drive Jira Cloud Optimisation

• Take ownership of Jira Cloud setup and governance across software and potentially hardware teams.
• Build workflows, enforce traceability from product roadmaps through to epics and stories, and drive reporting and visibility of delivery progress.

4. Act as a Bridge Between Product, Program & Engineering

• Work closely with Product Managers to translate user stories into well-structured epics and tasks understood by engineers and program managers.
• Surface delivery risks, trade-offs, and options to support prioritisation decisions between product and program functions.

5. Support Transition from Engineering-Led to Product-Led

• Help embed product thinking within the engineering teams.
• Ensure delivery aligns with strategic product goals and market/user needs through clear communication and backlog alignment.

What you will bring to the role:

• Proven experience delivering in engineering-led or deep tech environments (software + hardware).
• Comfortable tailoring Agile practices to suit mixed software, embedded systems, and hardware development.
• Strong hands-on experience configuring and managing Jira Cloud.
• Able to implement traceable workflows from product roadmap through epics, stories, and tasks — with effective reporting and governance.
• Skilled at translating technical detail into options and trade-offs for product and program teams.
• Experience acting as the bridge between strategic goals and technical execution.
• Background or experience in Agile coaching — able to guide teams without enforcing rigid processes.
• Track record of maturing delivery practices in environments with low Agile maturity.
• Familiarity with the complexities of delivering software and firmware in hardware environments (e.g., stop/start cycles, integration points).
• Bonus if experienced in photonics, embedded systems, or similar domains.
