Currently recruiting a Permanent Lead Azure Cloud and Platform engineer for a Payments company based in Sydney. This is a hybrid role with the team attending the office 1-2 days a week.

You will be joining one of Australia’s largest payments provider processing around 1.2Bn transactions and $50bn in volumes, servicing more than 30 million customers across the country on a weekly basis. The client’s aim is to continue to deliver seamless payments, administrative efficiencies and deeper customer engagement and understanding for Australian businesses.

This is a key role in the Engineering function and you’ll be reporting  to the Senior Engineering Manager. You’ll be passionate about all things cloud and platform, architecture design and be open to learning and skilling in new areas.

Day to day life in the role:

• Design and operate high quality, scalable and performant cloud platforms
• Provide team leadership to a small squad of platform engineers
• Coordinate with other teams on best practice and ensure all squads are aligned to business standards and collaborate across various teams.
• Reverse engineer technical blockers including hands-on contribution.
• Investigate and recommend improvement opportunities to drive continuous improvement and ensure we innovative and up to date with market-leading technologies and industry trends

Skills needed for this role:

• Solid experience with Azure Cloud
• Hands on experience with Kubernetes including AKS
• Infrastructure as code experience using Terraform
• CICD experience with tools such as Azure DevOps etc

Nice to have skills

• Any Database technologies skills such (MongoDB)
• Cloud monitoring tools such as Dynatrace etc.
• Google Cloud data tooling (BigQuery)
