Sales Strategy & Success

The Company

A privately owned textile business that has been operating for over 15 years. The business employees around 20 people and has a number of showrooms across Australia, as well as long term relationships with well known Architectural and Design firms across the country.
With significant ongoing success with residential projects, the business is looking to make a strategic hire who can take the existing sales function to the next level as well as break into the commercial project space- specifically across hospitality and aged care.

The Role

Reporting into, and working closely with the founder of the company, this position is responsible for several key deliverables:
  • Selection and implementation of a new CRM. This will require your input in assessing how the business currently functions, the key metrics associated with commercial success and working to identify, implement and then drive adoption of the best solution.
  • Strategic direction to uplift the performance of an already functioning sales team in the residential projects space.
  • Writing the strategy to build on the small number of commercial projects the business has completed over the last few years. This is a key focus for the business- there is an understanding that the lead time can be longer in this sector but it needs a dedicated and targeted approach.
  • Implementing brand management strategy. The business currently imports several high end product lines, as well as having it’s own private label. Managing the expectations and performance of individual brands is an important part of this position.
  • Working closely with Marketing to implement these strategies.
This role is well suited for someone who is aspirational about leadership as there is a pathway towards ongoing management of the existing sales and marketing teams once the initial key projects have been successfully worked through.

Your experience

You’ll need to be analytical, commercial and communicative. The wish list is below:
  • Have significant experience within the A&D sector, ideally including a comprehensive understanding of sales cycles, stakeholder management and key performance drivers of both residential project sales and commercial projects
  • Specifically, exposure to or experience closing projects within the hospitality and aged care industries will be particularly relevant.
  • Long standing relationships and good personal brand within the A&D sector will be highly valued.
  • Have exposure to several CRMs as a user, and ideally have experience in either driving the implementation of a CRM or being in a business when a CRM is being implemented
  • Have an educated opinion on implementing change within an established team and business.
  • Be able to speak salesperson! The role is not an on the road selling position, but you will need to spend time with the sales team to get to know their processes and capabilities.
What’s in it for you?
  • A key role where you can make an impact. This business is open for business and they want to take the next step- and they see this role as a key to the growth of the company.
  • The opportunity to write and implement strategy.
  • A competitive remuneration package- up to $150k + super + bonus.
  • A flexible working opportunity with 2 days from home per week.
