Join STS Group as our next CSA Estimator and be part of our Transmission & Distribution team. 

The Opportunity 
The CSA Estimator will be part of the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) estimating team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for high-voltage substation and grid connection projects. The role requires strong technical, commercial, and analytical capabilities, along with close collaboration across engineering, planning, and procurement functions.
  
Some of the key duties of this role
  • Review Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to fully understand project scope, specifications, and tender requirements.
  • Analyse employer requirements to ensure all scope elements and compliance obligations are incorporated into tender submissions.
  • Attend site visits as required to assess project conditions and constraints.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from design drawings and develop in-house Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Collaborate with estimating team members to ensure accurate pricing of civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) elements.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs for materials and subcontract packages to support competitive pricing.
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for technical compliance, commercial competitiveness, and overall value.
  • Work with project planners to develop detailed tender programmes for civil works.
  • Support the handover of successful bids to the Operations team, ensuring continuity and clarity.
  • Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings with clients and stakeholders as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CSA estimating.
  • Proven track record in estimating for high-voltage substations, grid connections.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Solid commercial awareness with strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for site visits and project meetings.
