I'm working with an award-winning commercial company to further build their IA (& Risk) team. As one of our most established, and growing clients, I’m sure you’ll be aware of them, and probably have used their product/service!
Their HQ is in Dublin, Ireland, but they are flexible on where and how you work. That being said, the team tend to do 2 days a week in the office in Dublin – the rest working from home; or in Cork, or Belfast. Reporting directly to the Director of Internal Audit, the purpose of this role is to provide assurance to the Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Board by delivering the internal audit plan. As part of a high-performing team of over 10 internal audit professionals, you will help plan, deliver & execute the internal audit plan, which is made up of financial, operational and also some controls-based reviews. Given the varied, risk-based nature of the department, this role will give great exposure and opportunities for gaining experience and personal growth. Travel will be very low at around 5-10%, if that.
Our client is very open minded on the background of who they employ, but the successful candidate is likely to have a relevant degree, and with some progressive experience working in internal/external audit working in/with large complex organisations such as another commercial business; and/or a Top 10/Big 4, given the fast-paced, dynamic environment the client operates in. Being a fully/part qualified accountant (CPA, CA, ACCA, ACA, etc.) or Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent is desirable, but not at all mandatory.
Most importantly though, you will have a great personality!! The client actively seeks diversity of thought, and prioritises future potential; so, whilst you don’t have to be the finished article in terms of IA experience right now, they are looking for people they can invest in… A great communicator and personal relationship-builder; someone with drive, raw intelligence, and a natural curiosity; someone that has energy, likeability, and an enthusiastic nature, who can be a great ambassador for the internal audit team, and beyond.
